Here's
a few words from Jack Rabid from the "Big Takeover"
magazine (you may recognise Jack from the sleeve-notes
he provided for the 1995 RPM re-issue CD's):
"Greetings
to the Comsat Angels web site from Jack Rabid and
Big Takeover Magazine! I hope Comsat's fans have been
enjoying the liner notes I composed that accompanied
the reissues of Sleep No More and Fiction
(truly classic LPs!!!!!!). Of all the things that
I have had printed in my 17 years of writing about
music, that two-part piece is the one I am proudest
of all, no kidding, because of my feelings towards
those early Comsat's records. I never worked harder
at trying to accurately portray my immense feelings
for a band and its work in a measured way.
The
main issue of Big Takeover Comsat's fans MUST have
is issue #24, from 1987, which has a live Steve
Fellows on the cover and a full-transcript, 2-hour
interview that covers the 1978-1987 period of Comsat's
in full detail, from the joy of a super-fan asking
all the pent-up questions that others never asked
in the UK press interviews. This is available for
$3 USA, $4 Canada, $5 overseas (includes shipping).
